The Dish: Graham Elliot

We’re back in 2015 with more great bites from some of your favorite chefs headed to Nashville this September. With each installment of The Dish, we’ll be bringing you unique looks at the culinary stars behind some of your favorite restaurants and TV shows. From behind-the-scenes kitchen talk to meal-making soundtracks and Nashville favorites, get the scoop straight from the chefs.

Did you see our first feature with The Chew’s Carla Hall? This week we check in with Chicago’s own Graham Elliot for his responses to our ‘in the kitchen’ Q+A.

Favorite post-shift meal/late-night snack?

Fried Chicken

Go-to cooking soundtrack?

Girl Talk’s “Feed The Animals”

Which words or phrase do you most overuse in the kitchen?

Sexy, finesse, push-push

Most underrated/overrated ingredient?

Underrated – Butter. It’s taken for granted, looked down upon and disrespected.
Overrated – It’s not an ingredient, but I’m definitely over tweezers.

Favorite Nashville spot?

Changes every time I’m in town, always something new and exciting.

Don’t miss Graham Elliot’s demo at the festival on Sunday, 9/20!
